NY Governor's Race '10

November 12, 2009-

Attorney General Andrew Cuomo stated today that he is officially not running for Governor of New York State. Mr. Cuomo, who is popular among New Yorkers left many Democrats upset with this decision. This leaves the Democratic nomination open to unpopular Governor David Paterson. Mr. Paterson, who currently has a 17% approval rating has announced that he is running for re-election despite President Obama's telling him to withdraw. Former Mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani is still debating on whether to run or not. Mr. Giuliani, who is popular among New Yorkers is said to decide on running in a few weeks. The current polls show Giuliani defeating Paterson 55% to 30%.
